A pair of Middle Township High School senior athletes signed National Letters of Intent to play college sports at separate Division II schools. The ceremony was held Monday in the lobby of the high school.

Maggie Slavin, the goalkeeper on the Lady Panther lacrosse team that won the South Jersey championship and reached the state title game last spring, will play at Nyack College (N.Y.). And Zach Wyatt, a left-handed pitcher from the Middle baseball team, will attend Bloomsburg University (Pa.).

Slavin was the lacrosse team’s full-starter for the first time last spring and flourished. The helped the team to an 18-2 record and its first sectional championship by making 172 saves and conceding just 154 goals in 20 games. She allowed 10 or more goals in a game just five times last season.

Wyatt was one of the Cape-Atlantic National Conference’s top pitchers last season. Despite a 2-4 record, he struck out 47 against only six walks in 45 innings pitched and posted a 1.30 earned run average last spring.
