Abrego, a junior right-hander, recorded strikeouts for 10 of the 15 outs recorded.

Senior outfielder Kayla Cubernot continued her hot hitting to lead Middle’s offense. She went 3 for 4 with five RBI. Her hit with no outs in the bottom of the fifth inning sent home the 10th run to end the game on the 10-run mercy rule.

Cubernot has 12 hits in her last 18 at bats over five games.

Middle improved to 2-7. Lower Cape May fell to 0-6.
