Cape Express U-11 girls team team wins flight

The Cape Express U-11 Sirens won their flight for the 2018 fall season in the South Jersey Youth Soccer League with a 2-1 win over the South Harrison Sparks over the weekend.

The Sirens trailed 1-0 at halftime but leveled the game on a goal by Aubrey Walters, helped by an assist from Sophia Smith. Gabby Oliver then added the winner late in the second half.

Strong defense led by Ella Harkins, Riley Odom and Riley Deignan kept the ball in South Harrison’s end and made it easy on goalies Meredith Lutjen and Ainsley Reed. Kate Walker, Maggie Farrell, Julia Deignan and Cara Myers kept the pressure on the Sparks goalie.
