ERMA — The Ocean City High School softball team scored runs in every inning and rolled to a 16-1 victory over Lower Cape May Monday.
The Raiders belted 15 hits, four of them for extra bases, in winning the game in five innings thanks to the 10-run mercy rule.
Sophomore Alexis Illas enjoyed a fine game for Ocean City. She gave up just two hits and a run while striking out eight on the mound for the pitching victory and also went 3 for 4 with a long home run that easily cleared the fence in center field. She also had two RBI.
Lindsay Konick added two hits and four RBI and Alex Vitola and Christina Barbella each posted two hits and four runs scored. Savanna Holt also had two hits for Ocean City (3-1).
Lower Cape May’s Emma Muldoon prevented a shutout with a line drive home run that cleared the fence in left center in the fourth inning.
The Lady Tigers fell to 2-2.
