Cape Express youth soccer scores

The following are results from recent games played by Cape Express youth soccer teams:

U8 Cape Express Galaxy vs. Mainland United: The Galaxy played a great game vs the visiting Mustangs. Maggie Staino, Peyton Bernacki, and Nora Cray moved the ball well and helped put pressure on Mainlands keepers.
Fiona Hardin played outstanding in goal.

U9 Cape Express Mayhem at Mainland United: The Mayhem traveled to Mainland for a battle with their local rival. Cape had goals scored by Abby Verity, Kate Wheeler, and Casey Day. Peyton Hunsicker and Alex Grier defended the net for Cape.

U13 Twin County Twisters 5, Cape Express White 2: Cape started the game a little slow allowing TC to score two goals.  Keily Sanchez scored off a PK earned by Sianna King’s hard work in the box closing out the half 2-1. In the second half, Gracie Repici made a nice cross and Sianna King had an amazing finish levelling the score. Twin County would not be denied taking advantage of a few break downs allowing them to score 3 more. Cape kept fighting but came out with a loss of 5-2

U15 Hibernian Crush 4, Cape Express Fusion 1: Cape held the highly ranked Crush scoreless for most of the game in a back and forth battle Friday night at home.  Within a small window halfway through the second half, HIbernian netted a couple goals for the lead. The Fusion didn’t stop fighting as Anna Smith made a beautiful pass to McKenna Gregory, who beat the center back and knocked it past the keeper for her first goal of the year.

U15 Cape Express Fusion 2, Upper Freehold/Allentown 1: The Fusion got back to their winning ways with a hard fought victory Saturday night under the lights. Eva Dimitrov got the scoring started in the first half with a nice blast at the top of the 18. Shortly after the ball was played into the box and McKenna Gregory outworked the defense and the goalie to pick up a rebound and put it in the back of the net for her second goal of the weekend. Upper Freehold’s keeper made a number of good saves to keep the game close. The Fusion defense did a stellar job of keeping UFA out of their end and any chances they had were shut down by Kiki Soto in net.
