Tim Kerr Island Run this weekend

The annual Tim Kerr seven-mile island run will be held Sunday, Sept. 3, at 8:30 a.m. in Avalon. Proceeds from the event benefit the Helen Diller Vacation Home for Blind Children and the Snider Youth Hockey Foundation.

The event’s kids Splash ‘N’ Dash is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 2, at 6:30 p.m. and includes splashes in the ocean and short runs for children ages 5-15. A pizza and water ice beach party will be held after the race.

The events are hosted by Tim Kerr Charities, named for the former four-time all-star and four-time 50-goal scorer for the Philadelphia Flyers.
