Upper Township youth travel soccer teams begin fall season

The following are results from recent games played by Upper Township youth travel soccer teams:

GIRLS

U-10 Wildfire vs. Voorhees: Thompson Sypherd scored two goals and Abbey Cappelletti added a goal and an assist to lead a balanced attack that also saw Carly Godrey, Emily Keich and Riley Grawl find the back of the net. Rebecca Siteman, Hudson Scola and Molly Quinn contributed to a solid defensive effort that included the goalkeeping tandem of Savanna Rolls and Cece Mirsky.

U-11 Tsunamis 3, Harrison Solos 0: Lily Keim, Lindsey Seeberger and Maeve Quinn each scored and Emily Leonard added two assists. Tsunami goalkeepers Kaia Ray and Emily Swan kept the ball out of the net to earn the shutout. The defense was led by great performances from Shalea Gannon, Gwen O’Hara, Emily Swan, Abby Marr and Ella Jefferson. The midfield of Brooke Liebrand, Maeve Smith, Gianna Vallese and Emily Leonard consistently pushed the ball forward. Kaia Ray helped at striker.

U-12 Wave 4, Haddonfield Red Dawgs 1: Zoey Lappin scored twice and McKenna Chisholm and Millinda Merigliano each added goals in the win.Ashley Rhodes, Corinne Williams, Madison Rossetti, and Tyler Connell led the back line. Taylor Amstutz and Anna Delaney helped in the midfield.  Zoey Lappin, Charlotte Risley, Madison Pratt, Malia Dahms, Julia Keich, and Lainey Mackin kept the pressure on the Dawgs keeper all game. Anna McCabe and Hannah Cappelletti combined for the win in goal.

U-14 Storm 2, SWSA United 1: Keira Schmidt posted a goal and an assist, Hailey Whilden added a goal and Anna Smith chipped in an assist for the Storm. The Storm defense of KK Dolka, Maddie DeNick, Monica Dominguez and keeper Tori Vliet kept the attacking SWSA United team from scoring in the second half.

BOYS

U-9 Avalanche vs. Vineland KiXX: James Carr, Chase Wilson, Brady Dhams, Nolan Servis, Dominic Schultz and Caden Schiemer each had goals for Upper. The defense held strong through Gabriel Meron, Talon Ray, and Cooper Marr. The Avalanche previously went unbeaten in the GPS Endless Summer Tournament on Labor Day weekend to win their age group.

U-10 Riptides vs. Moorestown Rapids: John Godfrey tallied twice, Luke Wildman added a goal and Quinn Olek and Will Law each had assists for the Riptides. Bryce Wilson and Gregory Guyon took control of the back line with some stellar defense. Ryan Bacon performed well in net.

U-11 Earthquakes 2, Deptford Spartans 2: Triston Schmidt and Joey Goodman each scored for Upper.

U-11 Derechos vs. Monroe Township: Parker Ramsi had a great game in goal. Great wing play from Luke Tjoumakaris, Dylan Wilson, Grady Hanson, and Gavin Taylor helped the Derechos. Sean Hoag and Brendan Deegan played the top of the field with intensity. The midfield and defensive unit of Jake Collo, Tyler Seeberger, Logan Fearnhead, Cole Haas, Caleb Servis and Lukas Tuthill frustrated the opposing team.

U-13 Vineland Union 2, Surge 1: Ryan Weiand scored off

Colin Bowman’s assist in the loss. Excellent games were logged by Ryan Shaw, Anthony Videtto, Dylan Laughlin, Santino Lomas, Patrick O’Hara, Brandon Argoe, Ethan Meron, and Charlie Dunner.

U-14 Heat 3, Cinnaminson Outlaws 1: Jonny Leap netted two goals and Aidan O’Kane contributed a goal and an assist for the Heat. Connor Smith, Paul Tjoumakaris, Andrew Karayiannis and Patrick Lonergan played exceptionally.

U-15 Hurricanes 4, Northern Burlington Union 2: Riley Rudolph, John Lindsay, Owen Ritti and Lambros Kousrefesoulis each scored in the win.

James Carr of U-9 Avalanche started the game with the first goal as left wing vs. the Vineland Kixx.
