The following are results from recent games played by Upper Township youth soccer teams:

GIRLS

U-9 Lightning vs. Indian Mills Warriors: Lola McGonigle led the charge with four goals. Aurora Brown and Sophia Thomas also reached the back of the net. There was also sharp play by Abby Smith, Julianne Goodman, Grace Leiser, Peighton Clemens, Lily Pettit, Tessie Mammele, Maddie McHale and Maddi Dever. Strong goaltending was once again in play with the steady nerves of Lily Pettit and Aurora Brown.

U-10 Wildfire vs. Moorestown Stompers: Carly Godfrey tallied a goal and an assist and Adalyn DeAngelis, Thompson Sypherd, and Rebecca Siteman also scored. The Wildfire defense was its usual stellar self, as Emily Keich, Riley Grawl, Hudson Scola, Savanna Rolls and Molly Quinn limited the Stompers to few chances in front of the shutout goalkeeping tandem of Quinn and Abbey Cappelletti. Multiple scoring chances were generated by Cappelletti, DeAngelis, Grawl, Cece Mirsky, Siteman and Sypherd.

Soccerween Tournament: The Upper Township Wildfire participated in the annual Soccerween tournament at Amanda’s Field. The 4-v-4 format allowed for the girls to compete as two teams, the 4th grade Darth Vaders and the 3rd grade Jedi Knights. The Darth Vaders of Abbey Cappelletti, Adalyn DeAngelis, Riley Grawl, Molly Quinn and Thompson Sypherd placed first in the tournament and went undefeated. The Jedi Knights of Carly Godfrey, Cece Mirsky, Savanna Rolls, Hudson Scola and Rebecca Siteman finished third. The Force was strong with the Wildfire, as the Star Wars theme also earned the girls first place for best costume.

U-12 Wave 2, Medford Union 0: Goals by Millinda Marigliano and Ashley Rhodes allowed the Wave to pick up their fourth win of the season and give the Union their first loss. Notable play by the entire Wave team contributed to the victory.  Keepers Hannah Cappelletti and Anna McCabe recorded another shutout during league play.

U-15 Highland Force 2, Cyclones 1: Sophie Mammele scored off a free kick from Aimee Altieri in the team’s first loss. Megan Coan and Annecia Morales played well on offense.

U-14 Soccerween champs: Patrick Lonergan, Andrew Swan, Dante Edwardi, Jake Myers, Paul Tjoumakaris, Aidan Okane, Connor Smith, Cameron Yoa. Coach Paul Lonergan
