CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – The Cape May Tech boys and girls swimming teams each splashed past rival Lower Cape May Friday afternoon in the first meet of the 2017-18 season.

Tech’s boys team exhibited its superior depth in its 128-36 victory, while the Tech girls team posted a 119-45 win in the first-ever girls-only meet in the history of Lower’s program.

Lower had previously competed as a coed program only.

Cape May Tech swimmers placed first in every event in both meets.

In the boys meet, Jerry DiAntonio, Tyler Flynn, Cooper Gehring and Corbin Sturgeon each won four events for the Hawks. They were each part of two relay first-place relay wins. In addition, DiAntonio was first in the 100 breaststroke and 200 individual medley, Flynn won the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly, Gehring claimed top honors in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle and Sturgeon was first in the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke.

In the girls meet, Hannah Wilcoxen and Lindsay Robbins were each first in four events for Tech. They both were on two winning relay teams, with Wilcoxen also winning the 100 butterfly and 500 freestyle and Robbins taking first in the 50 freestyle and 200 freestyle. Three-event winners for Tech included Ruby Redmond (two relays, 100 breaststroke) and Miranda Fisher (one relay, 200 individual medley, 100 freestyle. Savannah Bruno also took first in the 100 backstroke.
