KYION FLANDERS

WILDWOOD – Kyion Flanders has been awfully good during his career with the Wildwood High School boys basketball team.

So if you’re going to say the senior guard had a career game, it better have been pretty darn special.

This one certainly was.

Flanders poured in a program record 46 points, collected 11 rebounds and dished 11 assists for his first career triple-double as Wildwood ran past Clayton, 111-100 (yes, that is the correct score), to remain unbeaten in Tri-County Classic Division games.

Flanders made a ridiculous 20 of 25 shot attempts en route to his 46 points, which broke the single-game program record of 44 points set by 2010 graduate Joe Stefankiewicz in a win over GCIT during his senior season.

Tyler Tomlin made 9 of 13 shots and added 24 points and Marquel Matthews netted 20 points for the Warriors, who moved to 9-6 overall, 6-0 in Tri-County Classic Division games. Keniel Rivera also was in double figures with 10 points.

Wildwood shot 57.3 percent from the floor, making 47 of 82 attempts against a Clayton team that pushes the pace for 32 minutes and encourages its opponents to do the same.

Wildwood surpassed the 100-point mark with 3:31 to play in the game.

Mahir Yilmaz led Clayton with 23 points.
