WCHS grad shoots down longstanding hoops record at Rowan

Wildwood Catholic High School graduate Olivia Rulon broke a 28-year-old program record for the Rowan University women’s basketball team Wednesday evening.

Rulon, a junior guard, made a record eight three-point shots and finished with a career-high 26 points in the Profs’ 82-77 loss at Rutgers-Camden.

The previous Rowan women’s basketball record for three-pointers in a game was seven, set by Michelle Minerva in December 1990.

Rulon made 9 of 13 shots from the floor overall, including 8 of 12 from three-point range.

Rulon haw played in all 18 games is averaging 8.0 points and 3.1 rebounds per game for Rowan (11-7 overall, 8-4 New Jersey Athletic Conference). She leads the team with 33 three-point field goals.

Rulon is a 2015 graduate of Wildwood Catholic, where she scored more than 1,000 career points.
