NORTH WILDWOOD — Caleb Fields made it official on Friday.

Fields, who recently completed a stellar career with the Wildwood Catholic High School boys basketball team, signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Division I Bowling Green University on a full athletic scholarship Friday afternoon during a ceremony at the school.

Fields, who had verbally committed to Bowling Green in the fall, was joined at the ceremony held in the auditorium at Wildwood Catholic by his family, some of the team’s coaches and his teammates, as well the entire student body, faculty and administrators.

A 6-2 combination guard, Fields averaged 21.4 points per game in leading Wildwood Catholic to a school record 26 victories and the Cape-Atlantic League playoff tournament championship. His 1,665 points rank third all-time in program history.

Bowling Green, a member of the Mid-American Conference, finished 16-16 overall in 2017-18.

Fields is the second basketball player in his family to earn a Division I basketball scholarship. His older sister, Lauryn, currently plays at Savannah State.
