The annual CAL Celebration was held on the Ocean City Music Pier

2018 finalists for Billy Schoppy Awards:

The best of the Cape-Atlantic League’s Class of 2018 gathered at the Ocean City Music Pier today for Prime Events’ CAL Celebration.

Mainland runner Alyssa Aldridge and Atlantic City football and basketball player Flash Morgan won The Billy Schoppy Memorial Awards as the CAL’s top senior athletes.

Ocean City and Mainland tied for the Ed Byrnes Memorial All-Sports Award.

Buena’s Isabella DeStefano received a stranding ovation when she was introduced as the winner of the Frank Campo Humanitarian Award.

And there were lots of other winners.

  • Sanai Macon of Atlantic City and Tom Finnegan of St. Joseph-Somers Point were MVPs in the Middle School All Star Games
  • Paul Rodio presented the award to Xiomara Walker who won the Middle School foul-shooting contest
  • Isabella DeStefano of Buena won the Frank Campo Humanitarian Award - that's Frank Campo presenting it
  • Ocean City's Paul Baruffi presents the Girls MVP Award from All Star Saturday to Cedar Creek's Jazzy Duverglas, who also won the three-point shootout
  • Paul Rodio presents the Ken Leary Memorial Award to Gene Allen - Atlantic City won it for being the highest ranked Cape-Atlantic League team in the final Online 25
