Brandon Lin, Dan Auberzinsky named to pre-season South Jersey football all stars

A pair of Ocean City High School seniors were named to the pre-season All-South Jersey team in Marc Narducci’s 27^th Annual South Jersey Football Preview Magazine.

Brandon Lin, the 5-11, 197-pound linebacker who has led the Raiders in tackles the last two seasons, and Dan Auberzinsky, the 6-4, 311-pound tackle who helps the Raiders control the line of scrimmage, were both named to the second team, All-South Jersey.

In addition, the magazine named Ocean City as the team to beat in the West Jersey Football League’s Independence Division. The top contenders were Oakcrest, Absegami and Mainland.

Narducci’s magazine also listed the top 11 players in each division. Lin and Auberzinsky were joined on that list from the WJFL-Independence by teammate Brandon Lashley, who does a little bit of everything for the Raiders.

Players from CAL schools who were selected to the pre-season first team in South Jersey were running back Jada Byers and tackle Wisdom Quashie of St. Joseph; defensive tackle Isaiah Raikes and linebacker Joe Bonczek of St. Augustine; and linebacker Mohamed Toure of Pleasantville.

Joining Lin and Auberzinsky on the second team were guard Brad Lomax and linebacker Angelo Vokolos of St. Joseph; and defensive end Anthony Reyes of Vineland.

On the third team from CAL schools were running back Elijah Gray of Holy Spirit; defensive back Max Melton of Cedar Creek; and linebacker Jamar Holbrook and defensive back Cartier Gray of Millville.

Ocean City opens the football season on Sept. 7 at Egg Harbor Township.

All OCHS football games will be broadcast live on 106.3-The Shore (106.3 FM) and most will be video-streamed online through OceanCitySports.com.
