David Hayes, a senior on the Middle Township High School football team, is the latest CoastSportsToday.com Athlete of Week. Hayes rushed for 170 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries (12.1 yards-per-carry-average) and also caught three passes for 20 yards to help lead the Panthers to a 40-12 win over Gloucester Catholic last weekend. Hayes has rushed for 429 yards and five touchdowns through four games for Middle, which takes a record of 3-1 into Saturday’s game at Oakcrest.
