CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE — The high school swimming teams from Cape May Tech and Middle Township split boys and girls meets in spirited contests Friday at the Special Services School District aquatics facility, which the teams both share for practice and home meets.

Cape May Tech won the boys meet, 95-75, by getting quite a few points through key second- and third-place finishes. And Middle Township was victorious in the girls meet, 104-66, by taking first place in all but two events.

In the boys meet, Tyler Flynn was part of three first-place finishes for Cape Tech. He won the 50 freestyle; joined Chris Porton, Roman Voinea and Anthony Paluch for first in the 200 medley relay; and teamed with Paluch, Corbin Sturgeon and Jerry DiAntonio for victory in the 400 free relay.

Sturgeon (100 backstroke), DiAntonio (100 breaststroke) and Porto (100 butterfly) also won individual events for the Hawks.

Travis McCray and Brendon Bartha were each part of three first-place finishes for Middle. They both joined Riley Campbell and Martynas Bartnikas to win the 200 medley relay. McCray was also first in the 100 and 200 freestyle races and Bartha won the 200 individual medley and the 500 freestyle.

In the girls meet, Natali Ilieva and Ishika Patel were each part of four first-place finishes for Middle. The two joined Sophia Bosacco and Sophia Braun to win the 200 medley relay and with Catherine Bostard and Sabrina Wen for victory in the 200 free relay. Individually, Ilieva won the 100 breaststroke and 200 individual medley and Patel was first in the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly.

Bosacco (100 backstroke) and Bridget Donohue (500 freestyle) also won events for Middle.

For Tech, Lindsay Robbins was first in the 200 freestyle and Cameron Muir claimed victory in the 100 freestyle. Robbins Muir, Savannah Bruno and Olivia Jordan won the 400 free relay.
