College Player of Week honors for WCHS grad

CALEB FIELDS

Caleb Fields is fitting in quite nicely at the Division I level for the Bowling Green men’s basketball team.

The Wildwood Catholic High School graduate has been named Mid-American Conference East Division Co-Player of the Week after scoring a career-high 24 points in a 94-80 victory over Tennessee-Martin on Sunday. Fields made 6-of-7 shots from beyond the arc, including each of his last five. He also set career highs in assists with four and steals with two.

Fields has played in 11 games so far this season, starting the last five. He’s averaging 4.8 points per game.

Bowling Green is 8-5 overall. The Falcons open MAC play this Saturday at Kent State.

Fields scored 1,674 points at Wildwood Catholic. He led the Crusaders to the Cape-Atlantic League championship while averaging 21.1 points per game as a senior last winter.
