Former longtime coach Tom Feraco is expected to return to the Middle Township High School boys basketball program as head coach.

Feraco is up for approval as the team’s next coach at Thursday’s regular monthly meeting of the Middle Township Board of Education, according to the meeting agenda.

Feraco previously coached Middle for 35 seasons, posting a 719-251 record in a career that ended after the 2015-16 season. He was replaced by former St. Augustine Prep star Anthony Farmer. Farmer was relieved of his coaching duties shortly after the 2018-19 season ended, going 33-44 in three seasons.

Feraco is one of South Jersey’s most iconic coaches, regardless of sport. In addition to his 719 career victories, he led Middle to state championships in 1993, 1994 and 2002. The program also won nine South Jersey titles under his watch and won at least 20 games 21 times in his 35-year career.
