Champions crowned at Scoop Taylor Tip-Off Classic

WILDWOOD CREST – The 25th annual Scoop Taylor Tip-Off Classic concluded Sunday at the Crest Pier Recreation Center with the 11-day event’s championship games.

The following are recaps from each title game.

Junior Varsity Girls – Upper Township I 22, Margaret Mace 8: Gwen O’Hara sank eight points and Abby Cappelletti chipped in five points for Upper. Angie Wilber and Kiana DiAntonio each scored four points in the loss.

Junior Varsity Boys – Upper Township I 32, Wildwood Islanders 17: Tighe Olek recorded nine points and Dean Lappin added eight points for Upper. Jordan Dozier and Logan Veras each netted four points for the Islanders.

Varsity Girls – Margaret Mace 44, Cape Trinity 27: Macie McCracken canned 15 points and Ella McCabe swished 11 points for Margaret Mace. Kaci Mikulski had 10 points and Reagan Flickenger chipped in nine points for Cape Trinity.

Varsity Boys – Middle Township Recreation A 50, Wildwood Islanders 48: Anthony Trombetta led all scorers with 19 points and Bubba McNeal added 16 points for Middle, which rallied from a seven-point third-quarter deficit to win. Junior Hans posted 17 points and Ryan Troiano added nine points in the loss.
