WILDWOOD — The Wildwood High School boys cross country team ran its record to 4-1 on the season with victories over Schalick and Clayton in a double dual meet Wednesday on the Warriors’ boardwalk and beach home course.

Freshman Jorge Cruz continued his fantastic debut high school season by winning the meet in 16 minutes, 35 seconds, to lead Wildwood to a 25-31 decision over Schalick and a 16-43 win over Clayton.

Robert Wilizcek (18:06) and Liam Fitzsimons (18:10) finished third and fourth, respectively, while Noah Pruszinski (20:23) was sixth for Wildwood. Alexis Huerta (22:59) was Wildwood’s fifth finisher in 12th place overall.

Wildwood dropped the girls meet to defending South Jersey Group I Schalick, 17-42. Ava Troiano was Wildwood’s top finisher, placing fourth in 23:27.
