Marianna Papazoglou of the Wildwood Catholic Academy girls basketball team is the first CoastSportsToday.com Female Athlete of the Week for the 2021 winter sports season.
A 5-10 senior guard/forward, Papazoglou averaged 28.0 points, 10.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 5.5 steals over a pair of games last week, helping the Crusaders to decisive victories over Cape May Tech and Atlantic City.
Papazoglou, who enters this week with 1,568 career points, has signed to play college basketball at Division I University of Pennsylvania. Papazoglou was also a four-year starter for the Crusader girls basketball team and has also played softball at Wildwood Catholic.
