FRANKLINVILLE — Wildwood High School’s boys and girls cross country teams are division champions.
Both Warrior teams clinched Tri-County Conference Classic Division titles with victories at a large batch meet at Delsea Regional High School Tuesday afternoon.
Wildwood’s boys swept dual matchups against Pennsville and Gloucester Catholic, neither of which had enough runners to score as a team.
The Warrior girls won a matchup over Pitman, which also did not have enough runners score as a team.
Both teams finished division competition at 5-0.
In the boys meet, sophomore Jorge Cruz placed fifth in 17 minutes, 33.58 seconds and senior Robert Wileczek was seventh in 17:42.51 to lead Wildwood in a meet that featured 135 finishers. Other Wildwood scorers included freshman Brian Cunniff (60th in 20:37.64), sophomore Alexis Huerta-Tapia (87th in 22:57.97) and freshman Josue Palomec (24:17.42).
Wildwood’s boys were also Classic Division champions in 2020.
Wildwood placed three runners among the top 15 out of 81 finishers in the girls meet. Freshman Macie McCracken placed fifth in 20:44.49, freshman Leah Pawlus was 14th in 22:16.35 and senior Ava Troiano ended in 15th in 22:26.17. Wildwood’s other scorers were sophomore Monica Kobiwerowski (60th in 28:32.13) and junior Lizbeth Osario Garcia (74th in 34:41.33).
The Classic Division title is the first in program history for the Wildwood girls.
