Middle Township graduate Gary Nagle of Ursinus College recently won the 184-pound title at the Centennial Conference wrestling championships.

Jake McGonigle (sophomore-Holy Family basketball-WCHS) had three points and two assists while playing 27 minutes in a 73-68 loss to University of the Sciences over the weekend. For the season, McGonigle is averaging 2.9 points per game and is second on the team in total assists with 60. He has played in 24 of 26 games, with nine starts. Holy Family next plays Wednesday at home against Goldey-Beacom. …

JOSH WRIGHT

Josh Wright (freshman-Rowan basketball-CMTHS) played eight minutes but did not score in the Profs’ 110-102 overtime victory over Montclair State last week. For the season, Wright averaged 8.7 points and 1.9 rebounds while playing in 20 games, with one start. He was twice named the New Jersey Athletic Conference’s Rookie of the Week this season. Rowan has earned the No. 2 seed for the NJAC Tournament and will host New Jersey City University in the quarterfinal round on Tuesday. …

Jacob Hopping (sophomore-The College of New Jersey basketball-WCHS) posted two points and a steal in nine minutes of action to help the Lions to an 81-74 win over Ramapo in the opening round of the New Jersey Athletic Conference Tournament on Saturday. For the season, Hopping is averaging 8.1 points and 3.9 rebounds and is third on the team in steals with 16. He has played in 19 of a possible 23 games, with four starts. …

Jenna Hans (freshman-Hood College basketball-WHS) had six points and five rebounds in a recent 74-29 loss to Messiah. Earlier this month, she scored a career-high 22 points and also added six rebounds, three assists and three steals while playing all 50 minutes in a 78-71 double-overtime loss to Eastern. For the season, Hans is averaging 7.3 points and 3.9 rebounds for the Blazers (6-19 overall). …

Pat Holden (senior-Widener basketball-LCMRHS) recorded two points and two steals in a 54-49 loss to Messiah in the Pride’s regular-season finale on Saturday. Holden leads Widener in scoring at 12.5 points per game and in total assists with 78 and is shooting 83.1 percent from the foul line. …

JAHLIL WHITE

Jahlil White (freshman-Temple basketball-WCHS) posted 10 points and five rebounds in the Owls’ 75-71 road victory over Cincinnati on Sunday. He is averaging 6.7 points and a team-best 5.6 rebounds and is second on the team in steals with 25 and blocked shots with 18. White has started each of the last 14 games for the Owls (15-9 overall). …

Kate Herlihy (freshman-Rowan basketball-MTHS) registered two points and an assist in seven minutes of action to help the Profs to a 75-69 win over Montclair State in their regular-season finale. For the season, she is averaging 3.3 points and 1.5 rebounds. Herlihy is one of six Rowan players to see action in all 24 of the team’s games so far this season. Rowan (16-8 overall) will host Stockton in a New Jersey Athletic Conference quarterfinal game on Tuesday. …

Kyion Flanders (senior-Stockton basketball-WHS) registered 14 points, four rebounds and four steals in an 89-70 win over New Jersey City last Wednesday in the Ospreys’ regular-season finale. For the season, Flanders is averaging 12.0 points and 5.3 rebounds and is second on the team in total assists with 63 and total steals with 55. Stockton (21-4 overall), the top seed in the New Jersey Athletic Conference Tournament, is set to host The College of New Jersey in the quarterfinal round on Tuesday. …

GABBY TURCO

Gabby Turco (freshman-St. Anselm basketball-WCHS) scored 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the floor and added five rebounds in a 71-38 victory over St. Michael’s on Saturday. One game earlier, she fired in 18 points while shooting 4 for 8 from three-point range in an 89-51 win over Franklin Pierce. For the season, Turco is averaging 16.3 points and 4.5 rebounds and has posted 60 total assists. She is one of two players to play in and start all 25 of the team’s games. Turco has been named the Division II Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week seven times this season. St. Anselm (14-11 overall) is set to host Bentley in its regular-season finale on Tuesday. …

Lauren Moretti (senior-Delaware Valley College basketball-WCHS) scored 18 points and collected six rebounds and three assists in the Aggies’ 86-48 loss to DeSales in the team’s regular-season finale last Tuesday. One game earlier, Moretti recorded the 1,000th point of her college career in a 16-point, 11-rebounds performance in a 64-49 loss to Juniata. For the season, Moretti is averaging 15.1 points and 7.4 rebounds and leads the team in total assists with 62. …

Gary Nagle (senior-Ursinus wrestling-MTHS) won the 184-pound title at the Centennial Conference Championships on Feb. 12. Nagle posted a win by fall in the quarterfinal round before a victory by 6-0 decision in the semifinal round. He then received a medical forfeit in the title match. Nagle exited the tournament with a season record of 12-3 and was named an All-Centennial Conference selection for this performance. Teammate Romeo Rodriguez (junior-Ursinus wrestling-MTHS) placed second in the tournament at 133 pounds after losing by fall in the title match after winning decisions in the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds. Rodriguez has a season record of 10-6 and is an honorable mention Centennial Conference selection. …

Marianna Papazoglou (freshman-Penn basketball-WCA) has played in 11 games, with one start, for the Quakers so far this season and is averaging 2.3 points and 1.5 rebounds per game. Penn (10-13 overall, 5-6 Ivy League) is next in action Wednesday at Cornell. …

Martin Anguelov (freshman-Ranger College basketball-WCHS) scored seven points in a 107-102 loss to Weatherford College earlier this month. He’s averaging 5.7 points per game for Ranger (15-12 overall). …

Jordan Hall (sophomore-St. Joseph’s basketball-North Wildwood native) posted nine points, two rebounds and two assists in a 74-62 loss to Dayton Saturday. For the season, Hall is averaging a team-high 14.2 points, 6.6 rebounds and a team-best 6.2 assists for the Hawks (10-15 overall, 4-10 Atlantic 10). St. Joseph’s plays at St. Louis on Tuesday. …

Keith Palek III (freshman-California University of Pennsylvania basketball-St. Augustine Prep-Woodbine resident) had 11 points, nine rebounds and three assists in a 90-60 victory over Clarion on Saturday. For the season, Palek is averaging 9.4 points and 7.9 rebounds per game for the Vulcans (19-6 overall), who were scheduled to play Slippery Rock on Monday. …

James Cella (junior-Pennsylvania College of Technology lacrosse-LCMR) has started all three games so far as a goalkeeper and has made 36 saves while posting a .522 save percentage. Penn College (1-2) next plays Saturday at Albright. …

Emily Cimino (junior-Lehigh softball-WCHS) went 2 for 3 at the plate to help the Mountain Hawks to a 3-2 victory over Fairfield on Sunday in Raleigh, N.C. She also went 3 for 3 with a triple in a 1-0 loss to Mount St. Mary’s on Saturday, also in Raleigh. So far on the season, Cimino is batting .389 with two RBI and three extra-base hits through five games. Lehigh (2-3) is next in action March 4 against Liberty in Lynchburg, Va. …

Maddie Barber (sophomore-Temple lacrosse-MTHS) collected three ground balls and won a draw to help the Owls to a 15-11 victory over St. Joseph’s on Saturday. Temple (3-0) is next in action Saturday at Army. …

Matt Gibson (sophomore-Stockton lacrosse-LCMR) posted a goal in the Ospreys’ season-opening 15-14 overtime loss to DeSales on Saturday. Stockton is next in action on Saturday at home against Elizabethtown.

Wildwood graduate Kyion Flanders scored 14 points and posted four rebounds and four steals for Stockton’s men’s basketball team in a recent victory over Jersey City University. Flanders has helped Stockton earn the top seed for the NJAC Tournament.
