WILDWOOD – A team in desperate need of a victory got one Thursday afternoon.

Kaydence Oakley and Charlotte Kilian helped lead the way as the Wildwood High School softball team snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 5-3 victory over Cape May Tech.

Oakley went 3 for 4 with two runs scored and an RBI and Kilian scattered six hits while walking just one on the mound to lead the Lady Warriors (3-10).

With the score tied at 2-2 in the bottom of the fourth, Wildwood took the lead for good with a three-run inning. Five walks and an RBI hit by Oakley led to the three runs.

Imene Fathi drove home Wildwood’s first two runs, the first on a ground out in the opening inning and the second on an RBI single in the third.

Kilian set the side down in order in the seventh to end the game.

Wildwood played a crisp game in the field, committing just one error.

Adelia Ogden had two hits and a run scored and Kayleigh Rhodes and Amanda Daino each had RBI hits for Cape May Tech (6-12). Sophia Nemeth added a double and a run scored.
