WILDWOOD CREST – The Middle Township High School swim team topped Lower Cape May, 104-66, in a coed meet Thursday at the Von Savage Memorial Pool in Wildwood Crest.

The meet was the season opener for both teams.

Brandyn Acevedo led the way for the Panthers, placing first in two individual events while also being part of two winning relay teams. He won the 200 individual medley and the 100 butterfly. He joined Jake Frie, Nick Fonseca and Chase McCray to win the 200 freestyle relay and teamed with Fonseca, McCray and Isquian Ruiz for first place in the 400 freestyle relay.

Other individual winners for Middle included McCray in the 50 freestyle and Brooke Yarson in the 100 breaststroke.

Kaitlyn Crouthamel led Lower Cape May’s effort in the loss. She placed first in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle and also joined Abigail Lagares, Jenna Ziemba and Drew Kronemeyer for first place in the 200 medley relay.

Lagares (100 backstroke) and Justin Melli (100 freestyle) also won events for Lower Cape May.
