CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE — The Middle Township High School swimming teams swept meets over Lower Cape May Tuesday at the Special Services School District aquatics facility.
Middle Township earned first-place finishes in every event to take a 129-38 decision in the girls meet. The boys meet was much closer, but Middle’s superior depth gave it a 93-71 result.
In the girls meet, Natali Ilieva and Sophia Bosacco each won four events for Middle. They were each part of two relay victories, with Ilieva also winning the 200 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke and Bosacco taking first in the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke. Patel (100 butterfly), Maddie Deane (200 IM), Sophia Braun (50 freestyle) and Bridget Donohue (500 freestyle) also won individual events.
In the boys meet, Travis McCray and Brendon Bartha each won three events for Middle. They were each part of two winning relay teams, with Bartha taking first in the 100 freestyle and McCray winning the 200 freestyle. John Lombardelli (100 backstroke) also won an event for Middle.
Zeb Hinker was part of three first-place finishes for Lower. He placed first in the 200 individual medley and the 500 freestyle and was part of the winning 400 free relay team. Zac Long was first in the 100 butterfly and 50 freestyle and Mark Ryan was first in the 100 breaststroke.
