A sports media personality reports that the Philadelphia 76ers had a discussion with Wildwood coach Frank Vogel for their head coach position. NBC Philadelphia’s John Clark says the interview took place Tuesday. After Vogel’s high school career, he went on to assistant coaching for Boston, Philadelphia and Indiana before being promoted to a head coach role with the Indiana Pacers in 2011. He led the Pacers into a pair of Conference Finals and a total of five postseason efforts. Vogel also held top coach honors in Orlando and with the Los Angeles Lakers, where he won an NBA Championship three years ago. If Vogel doesn’t land the head coach job for the Sixers, reports are he is also a possibility for fill the same role for the Phoenix Suns.
