Stockton University freshman Kyion Flanders, a Wildwood High School graduate, has been named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for men’s basketball.

Flanders scored 15 points in a career-best 32 minutes against Kean in a 76-72-win on Friday at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. He also dished four assists, pilfered three steals, blocked two shots and grabbed a pair of rebounds. Flanders made 8-of-10 shots from the free throw line.

Flanders has played in five of Stockton’s eight games, missing the other three due to injury. He is averaging 9.4 points, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals off the bench for the Ospreys. Flanders is shooting a superb 81.5 percent (22-27) from the line.
