Catching up with some former Cape May County high school athletes now competing at the college level:

CALEB FIELDS

Caleb Fields (freshman-Bowling Green basketball-WCHS) started and scored four points in 19 minutes as the Falcons upset No. 18 Buffalo, 92-88, on Saturday in front of a record crowd of 5,000 at Bowling Green’s Stroh Center. The victory, Bowling Green’s first over a ranked team in 11 years, placed the Falcons in first place in the Mid-American Conference. For the season, Fields is averaging 4.5 points and is shooting 34.5 percent on three-point attempts in 19 games. He has started each of the team’s last 13 games. Bowling Green (15-6 overall, 7-1 MAC) next plays Tuesday at Western Michigan. …

Lauren Holden (senior-Fordhman basketball-LCMR) scored a team-high 15 points and also posted four rebounds and three assists in the Rams’ 57-46 win over Duquesne on Sunday. For the season, Holden is averaging 9.6 points and is shooting a team-best 89.5 percent from the foul line. She also leads the team in in minutes played at 38.6 per game. Holden scored her 1,000th career college point earlier this season. Fordham (15-8 overall, 6-3 Atlantic 10) hosts St. Louis on Wednesday. …

Gary Nagle (freshman-Ursinus wrestling-MTHS) posted a 5-0 decision at 174 pounds to help the Bears to a 25-16 win over McDaniel on Saturday. Nagle is 13-7 with five pins for the season. Ursinus next competes Saturday at the Centennial Conference Championships at Merchant Marine Academy. …

ERIC SORENSEN

Eric Sorensen (junior-Monmouth swimming-WCHS) placed third in the 100 butterfly and fifth in the 100 backstroke in the Hawks’ 151-137 loss to NJIT recently. Monmouth is next in action at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships Feb. 15-18 in Buffalo. …

Olivia Rulon (senior-Rowan basketball-WCHS) posted seven points and five rebounds in the Profs’ 69-55 loss at Montclair State on Saturday. Rulon has played in all 22 games (21 starts) and is averaging 9.9 points per outing. She leads the team with 28 three-point field goals. Rowan (13-9 overall, 11-4 New Jersey Athletic Conference) hosts William Paterson on Wednesday. …

RYAN LEGLER

Ryan Legler (sophomore-Rowan basketball-WCHS) is averaging 4.8 points per game while seeing action in all 22 of the team’s games. He played nine minutes but did not score in the Prof’s 92-90 win at Montclair State on Saturday. Rowan (17-5 overall, 11-4 New Jersey Athletic Conference) hosts William Paterson on Wednesday. …

Mackenzie McCracken (sophomore-Widener basketball-WHS) scored 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting and also grabbed six rebounds in just 16 minutes of action in the Pride’s 70-29 rout of Alvernia on Saturday. For the season, McCracken is averaging 7.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game while starting all 22 games. Widener (17-5 overall, 8-5 MAC Commonwealth) hosts Stevenson on Saturday. …

CONNOR LAVERTY

Connor Laverty (junior-Widener basketball-OCHS) scored 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting in the Pride’s 71-66 loss to Alvernia on Saturday. Laverty has started and played in 17 games and is averaging 12.8 points and 4.2 rebounds for the season. Teammate Pat Holden (freshman-Widener basketball-LCMR) has played in 14 games (one start) and is averaging 6.6 points. He leads the team in three-point percentage at 54.3 percent, having made 19-of-35 attempts from behind the arc. Widener (11-10 overall, 8-5 MAC Commonwealth is at Gallaudet on Tuesday. …

Luciano Lubrano (sophomore-Rowan College at Gloucester-OCHS) scored 24 points to pace the Roadrunners to a 100-93 victory over Passaic on Saturday. Lubrano is averaging 12.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists for the RCGC, which is 22-3 and ranked fifth in the nation in the NJCAA Division III poll. The Roadrunners are in first place in both Region XIX and the Garden State Athletic Conference. …

Grace Sacco (sophomore-UNC Wilmington basketball-OCHS), a point guard, has seen action in 11 games so far this season for the Seahawks, who are 14-7 overall, 7-3 Colonial Athletic Association. …

MAGGIE WALLACE

Maggie Wallace (freshman-Indiana swimming-OCHS) placed second in the 1,000-yard freestyle and fourth in the 500-yard freestyle to help the Hoosiers to a 154.5-145.5 victory over Louisville on Friday. Indiana, ranked 11th in the nation in Division I, is next in action when it hosts the Big Ten Championship meet Feb. 20-23. …

Kyion Flanders (freshman-Stockton basketball-WHS) led the Ospreys with 13 points and four assists and also added two steals in a 85-75 loss to New Jersey City on Saturday. For the season, Flanders is averaging 7.7 points in 20.0 minutes per game. Stockton (9-13 overall, 7-8 New Jersey Athletic Conference) is at Kean on Wednesday. …

AMANDA NUNAN

Amanda Nunan (sophomore-Tennessee swimming-OCHS) won the 1,000-yard freestyle in 9:46.85 and placed third in the 500 freestyle in the Volunteers’ 173-127 loss at Florida on Saturday. Tennessee is next in action at the SEC Championship meet Feb. 19-23 at the University of Georgia. …

Ryann Styer (freshman-South Carolina swimming-OCHS) helped the Gamecocks’ 200 free relay team finish second at the three-day Virginia Tech Invite over the weekend. She also placed seventh in the 100 freestyle and ninth in the 50 freestyle. South Carolina  is next in action at the SEC Championship meet Feb. 19-23 at the University of Georgia. …

LAUREN MORETTI

Lauren Moretti (sophomore-Delaware Valley basketball-WCHS) scored eight points in 36 minutes of action in an 85-76 loss to Eastern on Saturday. Moretti is averaging 8.1 points and 3.0 rebounds for the season and is one of only three players to start all 21 games so far for the Aggies. Delaware Valley (8-13 overall, 2-8 MAC Freedom) is next in action Wednesday at King’s College. …

Brothers Trey Smith (sophomore-Cabrini basketball-WCHS) and D.J. Smith (sophomore-Cabrini basketball-WCHS) each scored three points off the bench in the Cavaliers’ 94-87 loss to Marywood on Saturday. For the season, D.J. Smith is averaging 9.5 points per game and leads the team in three-pointers made (54) and attempted (131) and is shooting a team-best 41.2 percent from that distance. Trey Smith is averaging 7.7 points and 2.3 rebounds and has made 29 three-pointers. Cabrini (5-16 overall, 3-5 Atlantic East) is next in action Wednesday at Wesley College.
