Grammar school hoops Island Tournament this week

The Wildwood Crest Recreation Department is hosting the grammar school basketball Island Tournament and Skills Competition this week at the Crest Pier Recreation Center.

The event includes the grades 5-6 and 7-8 boys and girls basketball teams from Margaret Mace, Cape Trinity Catholic, Wildwood and Crest Memorial.

First-round games are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday. Consolation games and the popular Skills Competition are slated for Friday and Saturday. Championship games are Sunday.

Daily admission is $3 for adults, $2 for children and senior citizens.

The following is the schedule for the 2019 Island Tournament:

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 20

4:10 pm – Junior Varsity Girls: Margaret Mace vs. Wildwood

5:20 pm – Varsity Girls: Crest Memorial vs. Wildwood

6:30 pm – Junior Varsity Boys: Cape Trinity vs. Margaret Mace

7:45 pm – Varsity Boys: Wildwood vs. Crest Memorial

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 21

4:10 pm – Junior Varsity Girls: Cape Trinity vs. Crest Memorial

5:20 pm – Varsity Boys: Margaret Mace vs. Cape Trinity

6:30 pm – Junior Varsity Boys: Crest Memorial vs. Wildwood

7:45 pm – Varsity Girls: Margaret Mace vs. Cape Trinity

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 22

3:55 pm – Junior Varsity Girls: Consolation Game

4:30 pm – All teams report for Skills Competition, Part I

5 pm – Skills Competition, Part I (concludes approximately 8 pm)

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 23

1 pm – Varsity Girls: Consolation Game

2:15 pm – Varsity Boys: Consolation Game

3:20 pm – Junior Varsity Boys: Consolation Game

4:10 pm – All teams report for Skills Competition, Part II

4:30 pm – Skills Competition, Part I (concludes approximately 6:30 pm)
