ERMA — The Lower Cape May Regional High School boys soccer team put forth one of its better performances of the season during its final home game Wednesday.
Playing under the lights on their Senior Night, the Tigers recorded a 5-0 victory over Wildwood Catholic in a tense game that saw three different players — two for the Crusaders, one for Lower — sent off.
A player for each side received a red card after a confrontation in the second half. Another Wildwood Catholic player was disqualified after picking up his second yellow card.
T.J. Shoffler scored in the first half as Lower Cape May took a 1-0 lead at the break. The Tigers then exploded in the second half as Shoffler scored twice more and Miguel Valencia and Jordan Pierce also tallied. Pierce also added four assists.
Mark Ryan made six saves for the shutout in goal for Lower (7-10).
Wildwood Catholic fell to 10-8.
