WILDWOOD CREST — The Middle Township High School swimming program got its season off to a good start Friday.

The Panthers, competing in a coed meet against Wildwood Catholic, posted a 123-46 victory at the Joseph Von Savage Memorial Pool.

Sophia Bosacco and Travis McCray each won four events to lead Middle Township (1-0). Bosacco claimed first in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle and McCray won the 100 backstroke and 50 freestyle. Bosacco and McCray also each won two relay events, teaming with Brendon Bartha and Ishika Patel for first place in the 200 freestyle relay and with Bartha and Sophia Braun for first place in the 400 freestyle relay.

Bartha (200 individual medley) and Sarina Wen (100 breaststroke) also won individual events for Middle. Wen, Braun, Ishika Patel and Johnny Lombardelli joined for first place in the 200 medley relay.

Wildwood Catholic (0-2) got first-place finishes from Leilani Wong (100 butterfly) and Grace Stuart (100 freestyle).
