WILDWOOD — Marianna Papazoglou once again proved she can do a lot of good things on a basketball court.
The Wildwood Catholic High School junior came one assist shy of a triple-double in leading the Crusaders to a 65-31 victory in the Big Al Nerenburg Memorial Showcase Game at the Boardwalk Basketball Classic Thursday.
Papazoglou finished with 21 points, 15 rebounds and nine assists to lead the Crusaders, who controlled the game from the start.
Wildwood Catholic (4-0) used full-court pressure to wilt a young Holy Spirit team at the game’s outset, as the Crusaders raced to a 22-3 lead after one quarter and never looked back.
Gabby Turco added 13 points, nine rebounds and five assists and Alyia Grey-Rivera chipped in 11 points and four steals for Wildwood Catholic.
Eight different players scored for the Crusaders. Sixteen saw action in the contest.
