Cape Express youth soccer results: U13 Breakers win flight championship

The Cape Express U13 Breakers won their flight championship after a 2-0 win over EHT.

The following are results from recent games played by Cape Express youth soccer teams:

GIRLS

U8 Cape Express Rage vs. Haddon Heights: In the first game of their double header Jessica Alegre got the scoring started in the first half. Liza Matthews added to the total with a goal in the second half.  Defense played great with Genna Young and Brianna Quinn sharing duties in goal.

U8 Cape Express Rage vs. Logan: In the second game of their double header the Rage girls played their hearts out to finish their first full season on the pitch. Genna Young, Liza Matthews, Jaclin Adams and Jessica Alegre kept the pressure on Logan’s keeper. Liza Matthews netted two goals in the second half. Zoey Fisher and Brianna Quinn played very well in goal.

U11 Cape Express Mayhem 3, Collingswood 1: Stout defense by Whitney Macrina, Peyton Bernacki, Maggie King, and Nora Cray helped keep Collingswood’s attack to a minimum. Maggie Staino and Lindsay Grenfell played well in net. The midfield of Sophia Alegre, Piper Menz, Charlotte Kosmin and Londyn Atkinson led to Cape’s goals.  Aubrey Bradway scored twice off assists by Abbie Verity and Madeline Burns. Verity scored from a corner kick to finish out the Mayhem scoring.

U13 Cape Express Sirens 2, Collingswood 2: Collingswood put Cape on their heels early in the first half after a defensive breakdown. The Sirens settled down and regrouped, pushing play into their opponent’s end. Gabby Oliver took a beautiful pass from Kate Walker and beat the goalie one on one to tie the game.  A few minutes later Maggie Farrell sent another perfect pass through to Gabby who recreated her first goal to put the Sirens up 2-1 at the half.  Cape couldn’t get any pressure in the second half and a late push by Collingswood resulted in the Sirens finishing out their fall season with their sixth tie. 

BOYS

U-13 Cape Express Breakers 2, Egg Harbor Township 0: The Breakers clinched the Flight 3 championship of the South Jersey Soccer League with the victory.

U-10 Cape Express Surge vs. Mt. Laurel: Carter Evans scored two goals and Kaspar Sypalis and Chase Fitzmaurice each added a goal for the Surge.
