ERMA — The Wildwood Catholic and Lower Cape May Regional high school girls soccer teams combined to create an entertaining contest Friday afternoon.
Goals by Gwen Orlowicz and Marianna Papazoglou in the opening half were the difference as the Crusaders posted a 2-0 victory.
Orlowicz opened the scoring by knocking in the rebound of an initial shot by Papazoglou. About 10 minutes later, Papazoglou tallied by finishing after an excellent first touch while receiving a precision cross by Orlowicz.
Wildwood Catholic mostly controlled the majority of the possession in the contest, but Lower Cape May got the ball into the final third and created a few dangerous chances over the game’s final 20 minutes but couldn’t find a goal.
Wildwood Catholic improved to 4-3, while Lower Cape May dropped to 1-4.
