NORTH WILDWOOD — The Cape May County Technical High School and Wildwood Catholic Academy girls cross country teams competed in the final meet of the 2020 season under blustery conditions on Wildwood Catholic’s home beach and boardwalk course near the entrance of the Wildwoods Boardwalk Tuesday afternoon.
Brothers Luke and Frank Basile led Cape May Tech to a 15-50 win in the boys meet. Luke, a freshman, won the meet in 20 minutes, 49 seconds. Frank, a senior, was second in 21:45.
Jarod O’Reilly of Cape May Tech placed third in 22:09. Wildwood Catholic’ James Sawyer was fourth in 22:29 and teammate Matt Ingersoll was fifth in 22:33.
Wildwood Catholic’s Jula Sorensen led her team to a 23-34 victory in the girls meet, which was held simultaneously with the boys. Sorensen posted a time of 21:35, which was good for second overall among all runners.
Cape May Tech’s Lindsay Robbins was second in 21:48, with teammate Emie Frederick placing third in 22:37. Wildwood Catholic’s Alyia Gray-Rivera placed fourth in 23:30, with teammate Sammy Andress rounding out the top five in 23:58.
