Brady, Finnegan too much for Middle as Raiders roll

Ocean City’s Gannon Brady (left) and Tom Finnegan were named the CoastSportsToday.com/98.7 The Coast co-Players of the Game after combining for 47 points in a 59-41 win over Middle Township.

The Ocean City High School boys basketball team’s multi-sport athletes were too much for a young Middle Township team Wednesday evening.

Gannon Brady and Tom Finnegan, a pair of Division I signees for baseball, combined for 47 points and 23 rebounds as the Raiders pulled away from Middle for a 59-41 victory.

Brady, who’s headed to Fordham for baseball, scored 24 points and grabbed eight rebounds and Finnegan, a Vanderbilt baseball recruit added 23 points and 15 rebounds for Ocean City (2-1), which used a 16-5 third-quarter edge to build a 15-point lead after three quarters.

Middle (1-2), sparked by a pair of three-pointers by freshman Jermain McNeil (11 points), closed the gap to nine points early in the fourth quarter but the Raiders eventually pulled away.

Brady and Finnegan were named the CoastSportsToday.com/98.7 The Coast co-Players of the Game for their efforts.

Brady Rauner was also in double figures for Ocean City with 10 points.

Jeremiah Camacho and Gavin Aftanis each chipped in 10 points for Middle.
