March 5, 2021Division I college golf tournament at Shore Gate this weekend
Some of the top collegiate golfers in the Northeast Region are set to play in this area this weekend.
Iona College will host the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Spring Kickoff Saturday and Sunday at Shore Gate Golf Club in Ocean View.
The tournament is one of a few events the conference is hosting in the southern New Jersey Shore area this month.
According to the Iona athletics website, the event is serving as a kickoff for the 2021 MAAC Basketball Championships scheduled for March 8-13 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. In addition, the conference is also hosting its men’s and women’s cross country championships today at Seaview Golf Resort in Galloway.
In addition to Iona, the MAAC also includes Canisius, Fairfield, Manhattan, Marist Monmouth, Niagara, Quinnipiac, Rider, St. Peter’s and Siena.
