CAROLINE GALLAGHER

Caroline Gallagher (sophomore-Cabrini field hockey-Middle Township) was recently named the Atlantic East Conference Player of the Year after leading the conference in goals (13), assists (8), points (34) and shots (116). She was the only player in the Atlantic East to have games with three goals or three assists. Gallagher provided the assist on the winning goal in the waning seconds of overtime as Cabrini captured the Atlantic East Conference Tournament championship with a 2-1 victory over St. Mary’s College. Gallagher’s teammate, Makayla Hueber (sophomore-Cabrini field hockey-Lower Cape May), was a backup goalkeeper for the Cavaliers. …

Martin Anguelov (freshman-Ranger Junior College basketball-Wildwood Catholic) is averaging 12.7 points per game while shooting 44.1 percent (15 for 34) from three-point range. Ranger, one of the top JuCo programs in the country, is 4-2.

Lauren Moretti (senior-Delaware Valley basketball-Wildwood Catholic) posted nine points, 14 rebounds and five assists to help the Aggies to their first win of the season on Sunday, a 63-58 decision over Penn State Schuylkill. On Saturday, Moretti tallied 19 points and nine rebounds in a 73-66 loss to Penn State Harrisburg. …

CALEB FIELDS

Caleb Fields (senior-Bowling Green basketball-Wildwood Catholic) has yet to see action for the Falcons (1-2) due to injury. Fields is a two-year returning starter who averaged 6.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game last season. …

Christian Rafter (senior-Cabrini soccer-Middle Township) posted three goals and five assists for the Atlantic East Conference champion Cavaliers. He scored a goal in the team’s 4-0 win over Neumann in the Atlantic East Conference championship game. Rafter’s Cabrini teammates included Tyler Tomlin (junior-Cabrini soccer-Wildwood), Vince Wilson (junior-Cabrini soccer-Middle Township) and Ray Wilson (graduate student-Cabrini soccer-Middle Township). Cabrini’s season ended at 13-5-2 when the team lost to Babson College in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament last weekend. …

Anna Bond (freshman-Cabrini soccer-Middle Township) played 49 minutes off the bench and recorded a shot on goal in the Cavaliers’ victory in penalty kicks after a scoreless draw over Marywood in the Atlantic East Conference Tournament championship game. Bond saw action in all 20 of the team’s games and recorded one goal and one assist. Cabrini finished 10-6-4 after a 2-0 loss to Christopher Newport in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament. …

Dakota Ludman (freshman-Stockton field hockey-Middle Township) and Shea Gerhard (freshman-Stockton field hockey-Middle Township) both saw action during their debut seasons for the Ospreys. Ludman played in 10 games and recorded an assist, while Gerhard played in four games as a defender. Stockton finished the 2021 season at 8-8. …

Austin Cominsky (senior-Wilkes wrestling-Middle Township) won five of his six matches to place fifth in the 197-pound weight class at the 14-team Racich Rumble Tournament at Ursinus College last weekend. Teammate Dawson Tallant (junior-Wilkes wrestling-Middle Township) dropped both of his matches at the tournament. …

GARY NAGLE

Gary Nagle (senior-Ursinus wrestling-Middle Township) went 4-1 to place second at 184 pounds at the Racich Rumble Tournament last weekend. Nagle lost the championship bout in close fashion, falling 4-3 in double overtime. Teammate Romeo Rodriguez (sophomore-Ursinus wrestling-Middle Township) placed sixth in the tournament at 133 pounds. …

Shane Whitney (freshman-Camden County College wrestling-Lower Cape May) won all three of his matches to take top honors in the 197-pound weight class at the King of the Mont Tournament at Penn State Mount Alto earlier this month. Last weekend, Whitney went 2-2 at 197 pounds at the Racich Rumble Invitational at Ursinus College. …

Robert Lamoreux (junior-Ursinus football-Lower Cape May) has played in seven games as an offensive lineman for the Bears this fall. Teammate Sean Connelly (freshman-Ursinus football-Lower Cape May) was named to the program’s Scout Players of the Week for Special Teams on Nov. 9. Ursinus (7-3) finishes its season Saturday at Lycoming. …

Jordan Hall (sophomore-St. Joseph’s basketball-North Wildwood native) registered team highs of 20 points, seven rebounds and six assists for the Hawks in a 78-75 loss to Drexel Wednesday evening. St. Joe’s fell to 2-1 with the loss. …

GABBY TURCO

Gabby Turco (freshman-St. Anselm basketball-Wildwood Catholic) was named the Division II Northeast 10 Conference Rookie of the Week on Tuesday after averaging 18 points over two games over the weekend, both St. Anselm victories. She also totaled seven steals in the two games. Turco followed that selection by scoring 12 points in a 67-60 loss to Bentley on Wednesday. …

Erin Connelly (freshman-Salisbury cross country-Wildwood Catholic) finished 127th out of 216 finishers in the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Region Championships last weekend. Connelly posted a time of 27:11.1 in the 6K race. Salisbury finished 12th out of 31 teams at the event. …

David Gardner (freshman-Rowan soccer-Middle Township) saw action in 11 games for the Profs this fall. Rowan finished 13-4-2 overall after falling 1-0 to Christopher Newport in the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament. …

BRENNAN RAY

Brennan Ray (senior-Montclair State football-Lower Cape May) started all 10 of the Redhawks’ games at defensive back. He finished the season tied for first on the team in solo tackles with 39 and second on the team in total tackles with 70. Ray also led the team with three interceptions. Montclair State finished the season at 3-7 overall. …

Chloe Lawler (freshman-Old Dominion soccer-Lower Cape May) redshirted and didn’t see any action this fall for the Division I Monarchs. Old Dominion won the Conference USA Tournament title, posting a 1-0 win over Southern Miss in the championship game, before losing 1-0 to Duke in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. …

Pat Holden (senior-Widener basketball-Lower Cape May) averaged a team-best 17 points and four assists through the Pride’s first two games. He had shot 11 for 17 from the floor and 9 for 11 from the foul line. Widener went into Wednesday’s game at Misericordia at 1-1. …

KYION FLANDERS

Kyion Flanders (junior-Stockton basketball-Wildwood) scored 11 points and posted two rebounds and two assists to help Stockton to a 91-62 win over Neumann in the championship game of the four-team Widener Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday. He had eight points, three rebounds and two assists in an 82-71 win over Arcadia one game earlier. …

Marianna Papazoglou (freshman-Penn basketball-Wildwood Catholic) saw a total of 10 minutes of action over the Quakers’ first two games, both victories. She recorded two rebounds. …

Mat Capozzoli (senior-Drew basketball-Wildwood Catholic) has seen action in all three of the Rangers’ games so far and is averaging 3.3 points and 1.3 rebounds per game. …

JENNA HANS

Jenna Hans (freshman-Hood basketball-Wildwood) has averaged 8.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals over her first two games for the Blazers (1-1). Hood is next in action Thursday against Penn State Berks. …

Keith Palek III (freshman-California University of Pennsylvania-St. Augustine-Woodbine resident) has started all three of the Vulcans’ games and is averaging 12.3 points and a team-best 8.0 rebounds. He posted 17 points and 10 rebounds in a 93-89 win over Glenville State last Saturday. …

Eden Brojakowski (sophomore-Ramapo field hockey-Lower Cape May) saw action in seven games as a defender for the Roadrunners. Ramapo won four games to capture the ECAC postseason tournament championship, including a 2-1 overtime win over FDU-Florham in the title game. …

Veronica Johnson (sophomore-Neumann field hockey-Middle Township) played in eight games, with six starts, for the Knights this fall. She recorded one assist. Neumann finished the season 3-15 overall. …

Ava Karimalis (sophomore-New Haven field hockey-Middle Township) saw action in six games this fall for the Division II Chargers. New Haven finished the season 10-10 overall. …

Lexi Frank (freshman-Franklin Pierce field hockey-Middle Township) played in all 18 games, with nine starts, at midfielder for the Ravens, who finished 3-15 overall. …

Allison Johnson (freshman-Immaculata field hockey-Middle Township) played in all 19 games, with 15 starts, for the Mighty Macs this fall. She scored one goal. Teammate Camryn Oliver (freshman-Immaculata field hockey-Middle Township) saw action in eight games and also scored one goal. Immaculata went 4-15 this fall. …

Will Berger (senior-Rutgers cross country-Lower Cape May) finished in 113th place out of 174 finishers in the NCAA Division I Mid-Atlantic Region Championships last weekend. He posted a time of 33:41.8 in the 8K race. Rutgers placed 19th as a team. …

Jacob Hopping (sophomore-TCNJ basketball-Wildwood Catholic) is averaging 9.0 points and 4.7 rebounds through three games for the Lions. He had a season-high 12 points in a 79-62 win over Drew in the championship game of the TCNJ Tip-Off Tournament. …

Collin Hassay (freshman-Immaculata soccer-Lower Cape May) saw action in two games this fall for the Mighty Macs, who finished at 7-11-1. …

Jenna Durbin (senior-Olivet Nazarene soccer-Lower Cape May) played in three games and scored one goal this fall. Olivet Nazarene, an NAIA school located in Bourbonnais, Ill., finished 9-7-3. …

Paige Dooley (freshman-Rowan Cumberland soccer-Cape May Tech) and Sydney King (freshman-Rowan Cumberland soccer-Cape May Tech) were each contributors for the Dukes this fall. Dooley played in five games and recorded one assist, while King saw action in four contests. …

MIA RAFTER

Mia Rafter (sophomore-Rosemont soccer-Middle Township) played in 12 games, with nine starts, for the Ravens this fall. She recorded three goals and two assists. Rosemont finished at 5-12. …

Brynn Bock (freshman-Alvernia soccer-Middle Township) played in 16 games, with 10 starts, for the Wolves. She recorded 62 saves and posted a 2.20 goals against average. Alvernia finished 3-15 this fall. …

Taj Thweatt (sophomore-West Virginia basketball-Wildwood Catholic) has yet to see action for the Mountaineers through two games. Last season, the 6-7 forward played in nine games as a freshman.
