Wrestling: Middle wins title at Palmyra, LCM third at EHT

The Middle Township High School wrestling team produced three champions and three other finalists en route to winning the team championship at the Palmyra Holiday Tournament on Thursday.

Middle Township High School’s wrestling team produced three individual champions and the Most Outstanding Wrestler in winning the Palmyra Holiday Tournament, while Lower Cape May had one individual champion and placed third at the Art Marinelli Tournament at Egg Harbor Township on Thursday.

Middle Township’s Alick Killian won the Most Outstanding Wrestler Award at the Palmyra Holiday Tournament.

Alick Killian (157), Max Adelizzi (190) and David Giulian (215) each won individual titles for Middle at Palmyra. Killian was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Wrestler.

Middle won the eight-team tournament with 179.5 points, finishing ahead of Pennsauken (171.5).

The Panthers had three other wrestlers reach the final round. They included Connor Rowlands (113), X’zavier Swinton (132) and Kani Perry (285). Third-place finishes went to Dante Jackson (106) and Remi Rodriguez (150), while Donnie Nelson (126) and Jerry White (175) were each fourth.

At the Art Marinelli Tournament at EHT, Brock Zurawski won the individual title at 165 pounds to lead Lower Cape May to excellent third-place showing at the 20-team event.

Also for Lower, Jadan Farrow (157) and Marcus Hebron (215) each finished second, Brayden Castillo (175) placed third, Nathan Stewart (150) and Brody Slatzman (190) were both fourth and Connor Barikian (113) was fifth.
