WILDWOOD – It’ll get much more difficult from here.
The Wildwood High School girls basketball team enjoyed its second lopsided playoff victory in as many games Thursday, racing past Riverside, 72-22, in a South Jersey Group I quarterfinal game.
Freshman Macie McCracken poured in 22 points, 17 of which came in the first half, to lead the Lady Warriors, who enjoyed a 39-13 lead at halftime.
Imene Fathi added 12 points, eight assists and five rebounds and Emily Little chipped in 10 points and four steals for Wildwood (21-4).
Wildwood, the top seed in the tournament, will host No. 4 Woodstown in the sectional semifinal round on Saturday. Woodstown (21-6) was a 71-43 winner over Pennsville in its second-round Thursday.
Wildwood beat Woodstown, 63-43, on the road during the regular season. But the Wolverines have responded to that defeat by winning 10 of their next 11 games.
The winner of Saturday’s game will play No. 2 Woodbury or No. 3 Palmyra in the South Jersey title game on Monday.
