Wildwood Catholic graduate Emily Cimino of the Lehigh is among the Patriot League softball leaders with a .420 batting average.

Emily Cimino (junior-Lehigh softball-WCHS) had four hits and two RBI to help the Mountain Hawks sweep a three-game series over Bucknell over the weekend. Cimino entered this week second in the Patriot League in batting average at .420 while also posting 20 extra-base hits, 27 RBI and 23 runs scored. Lehigh (22-14-1 overall, 11-1 Patriot League) is next in action Wednesday at home against St. Joseph’s. …

Brendan Bean (senior-Penn baseball-West Wildwood resident) picked up the victory in relief in the Quakers’ 7-4 win over St. Joseph’s last week. The left-handed pitcher has appeared in 10 games so far this season, going 2-2 with a 5.59 ERA. He has struck out 12 in 9 ⅔ innings pitched. Penn (26-9 overall, 12-2 Ivy League) is next in action Wednesday at home against Rider. Bean began his high school baseball career at Wildwood before transferring to Gloucester Catholic. …

Kira Sides (sophomore-LaSalle lacrosse-MTHS) posted a goal and an assist while seeing action in 13 games, with five starts, for the Explorers this season. Sides was slowed by a foot injury at the beginning of the season. LaSalle concluded its regular season Saturday with a 22-10 loss to St. Joseph’s. The Explorers finished 5-12 overall, 3-6 Atlantic 10 Conference). …

CARSON DENHAM

Carson Denham (senior-Arcadia baseball-CMTHS) pitched two innings of hitless relief while striking out four batters and walking none to help the Knights to a 7-2 win over FDU-Florham on Friday. For the season, Denham has posted a team-best 0.98 ERA while seeing action in nine games, eight of which have come in relief. The righthander has posted a record of 2-0 while allowing just two earned runs and has struck out 18 batters against seven walks in 18 ⅓ innings pitched. Arcadia (31-5 overall, 16-2 MAC Freedom Conference) had a nine-game winning streak snapped with a 3-2 loss to FDU-Florham in the back end of a doubleheader on Saturday. The Knights went into last week ranked sixth in the country in the CBN/ABCA NCAA Division III Poll and ninth in the d3baseball.com/NCBWA Poll. …

Caleb Fields (senior-Bowling Green basketball-WCHS) recently announced he will be transferring to Fairfield in the fall. The point guard will have two seasons of eligibility remaining. Fields was the starting point guard at Bowling Green for two seasons before taking this season off as a medical redshirt after suffering an injury in the preseason. He averaged 5.4 points and 2.0 rebounds while starting 50 games over the past two seasons for the Falcons. Fields is receiving his undergraduate degree from Bowling Green next month and will be enrolling in graduate-level courses at Fairfield. Fairfield finished 15-18 overall, 8-12 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference last season. …

Cooper Gehring (redshirt freshman-East Stroudsburg baseball-CMTHS) is batting .448 with 10 runs scored while appearing in 18 games with seven starts. East Stroudsburg (29-13 overall, 10-8 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) is next in action Wednesday at St. Rose. …

MERCEDES RIVERA

Mercedes Rivera (junior-St. Elizabeth softball-WCHS) had a hit, an RBI and a run scored to help the Eagles to a 7-4 win and a split of a doubleheader against Mount St. Mary’s College on Sunday. The junior centerfielder was named the Colonial States Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week on April 19 after recording 12 hits and eight runs scored over a four-game stretch. For the season, Rivera is second on the team in batting average at .426, first in stolen bases with 11 and runs scored with 19 and tied for first in hits with 23. St. Elizabeth (12-7 overall, 8-3 Colonial States Athletic Conference) is next in action Wednesday with a doubleheader at Cedar Crest College. …

Branden Smith (sophomore-Immaculate lacrosse-LCMR) has posted three goals and three assists for the Mighty Macs while seeing action in all 13 games so far this season. He had two goals and two assists in a recent victory over Centenary. Immaculate (5-8 overall, 2-3 Atlantic East Conference) is next in action Wednesday at home against Neumann. …

Nico Castellano (sophomore Drew lacrosse-LCMR) has played in all 15 games so far as a midfielder for the Rangers. He has posted 11 ground balls and four caused turnovers. Drew (9-6 overall, 3-3 Landmark Conference) next plays at Susquehanna on Saturday. …

Will Berger (junior-Rutgers track-LCMR) placed fifth in the men’s 10,000-meter race at the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton University in 31 minutes, 21.68 seconds earlier this month. Rutgers is next in action later this week at the prestigious Penn Relays. …

VICTORIA LONDON

Paige Fox (sophomore-Rowan Gloucester softball-MTHS) had a key RBI hit to help the Roadrunners rally for four runs in the final inning to post a 4-3 win over Hagerstown Community College in the front end of a doubleheader on Saturday. For the season, Fox is hitting .370 with 32 runs scored and 20 RBI. The outfielder has played in 35 of a possible 41 games. Teammate Victoria London (sophomore-Rowan Gloucester softball-MTHS), a third baseman, has played in all but one game and is hitting .290 with two home runs, 23 runs scored and 17 RBI. Fox and London each posted a hit and a run scored in the team’s most recent game, an 8-0 win over County College of Morris on Sunday. The Roadrunners (25-16 overall) are next in action Tuesday in a doubleheader at Mercer County College. …

Melani Amador (junior-Chestnut Hill lacrosse-LCMR) started 13 of a possible 14 games as a goalkeeper for the Griffins this spring. She posted a .438 save percentage, making 172 saves on 462 shots. Amador made five saves on 11 shots in a 14-6 win over Caldwell on Saturday in the team’ season finale. Chestnut Hill finished the season 3-11 overall, 2-7 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. …

Julianna McClain (freshman-Ramapo lacrosse-LCMR) has recorded a goal and two assists while starting all 12 games as a defender so far this season for the Roadrunners. She leads the team in both ground balls with 26 and caused turnovers with 20. Ramapo (2-10 overall, 1-4 New Jersey Athletic Conference) plays its season finale Saturday at The College of New Jersey. …

MADDIE BARBER

Maddie Barber (sophomore-Temple lacrosse-MTHS) won four draw controls in the Owls’ 18-7 loss to 10th-ranked Florida over the weekend. Barber has started 14 of a possible 15 games and ranks first on the team in caused turnovers (15), second in draw controls (47) and fourth in ground balls (22). Temple (10-5 overall, 3-1 American Athletic Conference) finishes the regular season Saturday with a home game against Old Dominion. …

Caroline Gallagher (sophomore-Cabrini lacrosse-MTHS) had a goal, three ground balls and three caused turnovers in a 21-7 win over Gwynedd-Mercy that clinched the Atlantic East Conference regular-season title for the Cavaliers. One of just four players to start all 15 of the team’s games so far this season, Gallagher has recorded 11 goals and one assist and is second on the team in caused turnovers with 24. Cabrini (9-6 overall, 5-0 AEC) finishes the regular season Wednesday with a non-conference game at Scranton. …

James Cella (junior-Pennsylvania College of Technology lacrosse-LCMR) allowed just one goal in 30 minutes of action and was credited with the goalkeeping victory in the Wildcats’ 23-1 win over Medaille on Saturday. Cella has started all 15 games in goal so far on the season and has posted a .531 save percentage. Penn College (8-7 overall, 3-2 United East Conference) is set to conclude its regular season Saturday at La Roche. …

CARINA RAYMOND

Carina Raymond (sophomore-Jefferson lacrosse-LCMR) recorded a goal and an assist as the Rams secured a first-round bye in the upcoming Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament following Sunday’s 16-10 win over Felician. For the season, Raymond leads Jefferson with 44 goals and is third in points with 47. Jefferson (10-5 overall, 8-1 CACC) will play Dominican or Post in the CACC semifinal round on Friday in Lakewood. …

Marissa Giancola (junior-Kutztown lacrosse-LCMR) has played in 11 of a possible 15 games as an attacker for the Golden Bears so far this season. Division II Kutztown (4-11 overall, 1-9 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) is next in action Wednesday at West Chester. …

Alex Hunt (sophomore-Iona College baseball-Wildwood Crest resident) has appeared in 11 games as a relief pitcher so far this season for the Gaels. He has struck out 21 batters over 15 innings pitched while posting an ERA of 13.20. Iona (3-31 overall, 3-12 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) is next in action Tuesday at Fordham. Hunt played high school baseball at St. Augustine Prep. …

Chase Mendyk (junior-Stockton lacrosse-LCMR) had a goal and an assist in the Ospreys’ 24-2 rout of Keystone College on Saturday. Mendyk has scored five goals in four appearances this season. Teammate Matt Gibson (sophomore-Stockton lacrosse-LCMR) has played in nine games as a defender and has scored once so far this season. Stockton (12-5 overall, 5-0 New Jersey Athletic Conference) puts a 10-game winning streak on the line Wednesday at Bryn Athyn. …

LEO ZACCARIA

Leo Zaccaria (junior-Rider track and field-CMTHS) finished 16th out of 77 runners in the men’s 1,500-meter race with a time of 3:56.87 at the Rider Invite meet last weekend. He was the second Rider runner to finish the event. The Broncs won the team championship at the meet, placing first among 17 teams. …

Giacomo Antonicello (freshman-Atlantic Cape baseball-WCHS) is batting .194 with a team-best three triples in 22 games played so far this season. Teammate Collin Bradley (freshman-Atlantic Cape baseball-MTHS) is tied for the team lead in pitching appearances with seven and teammate Gabe Salinsky (freshman-Atlantic Cape baseball-LCMR) has appeared in seven games as a catcher. Atlantic Cape (8-17 overall) is at Middlesex County College on Friday. …

Sayde Nichols (freshman-Rowan Cumberland softball-MTHS), an infielder, is batting .406 and leads the team in runs scored with 26, stolen bases with 14 and walks with 11. Teammate Madison Sloan (sophomore-Rowan Cumberland-LCMR) is hitting .243 with two home runs and 14 RBI. Rowan Cumberland (9-14 overall) is next in action Wednesday in a home doubleheader with Union College.
