ERMA — It’s still very early in the season, but the Lower Cape May Regional High School girls lacrosse team is now in first place in the Cape-Atlantic National Conference.

The Lady Tigers edged Holy Spirit, 13-9, Monday afternoon to improve to 4-2 overall, 4-1 in conference games. Lower held a slim 6-5 lead at the half before posting a 7-4 edge in the second half.

Maggie Boyle led Lower with three goals, three assists, five draw controls and four ground balls. Teammates Sabrina Faulkner and Julia Gibson also each scored three times, Brianna Loper chipped in two goals and Tessa Hueber and Maddie Schiffbauer added a goal apiece.

Allyson Walsh made 16 saves in goal for Lower.

The Lady Tigers are next in action Thursday against Absegami.
