Wildwood Catholic High School’s girls cross country team clinched the Cape-Atlantic National Conference championship for the second straight season Tuesday afternoon.
The Crusaders defeated Cape May Tech (15-46) and Cedar Creek (15-50) in a double dual meet on its home beach and boardwalk course in North Wildwood to improve its record to 8-0 for the season.
Lauren Sorensen won the meet for Wildwood Catholic, finishing in 22 minutes, 56 seconds. She led a Crusader group that took each of the first five places. Following Sorensen, in order, were Joelle Osborne (22:58), Alyia Gray-Rivera (23:12), Sophie Peters (23:16) and Erin Connelly (23:33).
Lindsay Robbins led Cape May Tech with a sixth-place finish in 23:57.
Cedar Creek swept the boys meet. Wildwood Catholic gained a split by beating Cape May Tech, 20-35. Cape May Tech’s Leo Zaccaria won the boys meet in 18:24. Wildwood Catholic’s Chris Johnson was third in 18:40.
