Brandon Lashley of the Ocean City High School football team is the latest CoastSportsToday.com Athlete of the Week. The senior wide receiver and defensive back broke two school records and tied another in the Raiders’ recent 35-0 win over Washington Township. Lashley caught three touchdown passes to tie the school record for receiving touchdowns in a game. In the process, he broke Scott Lipford’s 1996 record of 12 touchdown receptions in a season, Lashley now with 13 for the season. Lashley also returned an interception 105 yards for a touchdown, which broke the record for longest interception return for a touchdown. That mark of 100 yards was originally set by Don Mulford in 1944. Lashley is also a standout baseball player at Ocean City. He’s set to play baseball at Division I Stony Brook University next scholastic year.
