Wildwood Catholic graduate Caleb Fields scored 14 points in Bowling Green’s victory over Ball State in a Mid-American Conference Tournament quarterfinal game Thursday.

Catching up with some former Cape May County high school athletes now competing at the college level:

TYLER NORRIS

Tyler Norris (senior-Cabrini baseball-WCHS) has started all 12 games so far for the Cavaliers and is batting .306 while leading the team in hits with 15, total bases with 19 and stolen bases with eight. Cabrini (8-3) is scheduled for its first Atlantic East Conference action of the season Saturday when it hosts Gwynedd-Mercy University. …

Ed McWade (senior-Chestnut Hill basketball-WCHS) finished his career for the Griffins by becoming the program’s ninth career 1,000-point scorer in his final college game. He led Division II Chestnut Hill (3-25 overall) in scoring at 11.3 points per game and was third on the team with 4.5 rebounds per game. McWade was twice named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Weekly Honor Roll for men’s basketball this season.

DEJ’HANEE MCNEAL

Dej’hanee McNeal (sophomore-Alvernia basketball-LCMR) played in 22 of a possible 24 games, with 14 starts, for the Golden Wolves this season. She averaged 2.9 points and 3.7 rebounds. Alvernia finished 3-22 overall. …

Tanner Kerr (senior-University of the Sciences-MTHS) flirted with a triple-double in his final college game, posting nine points, eight rebounds and a career-high seven assists in an 83-79 win over Chestnut Hill. For the season, Kerr averaged 10.9 points, 8.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists. He was the only Devil player to start all 28 of the team’s games. USP finished 11-17 overall. …

Luciano Lubrano (sophomore-Rowan College at Gloucester basketball-OCHS) averaged 13.4 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game for the Roadrunners, who finished 28-4 overall and reached the Region XIX Tournament Final Four. Lubrano led the team with 73 three-point baskets and shot 77.8 percent from the foul line. Lubrano led the team in games started with 31. …

Caleb Fields (freshman-Bowling Green-WCHS) scored 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting to help the Falcons to a 99-86 victory over Ball State in the quarterfinal round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament Thursday. For the season, Fields has started 23 of a possible 31 games and is averaging 4.4 points per game. He has committed just 12 turnovers, by far the least among players who have started at least nine games. …

ARIEL MAGEE

Ariel Magee (senior-Chestnut Hill softball-LCMR) was batting .368 with seven hits, including two doubles, in 19 at bats through eight games for the Griffins. She was tied for the team lead in total bases with nine and was second on the team in walks with seven. Chestnut Hill (8-8) is scheduled to host a doubleheader against Felician University on Saturday in its first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action of the season. …

Gary Nagle (freshman-Ursinus wrestling-MTHS) finished 13-7 with five wins by fall in his debut season for the Bears. He finished sixth on the team in team points. Ursinus went 9-3 overall in dual matches. …

OLIVIA RULON

Olivia Rulon (senior-Rowan basketball-WCHS) scored eight points in her final college game, a 77-71 overtime loss to Kean in a New Jersey Athletic Conference semifinal game. She finished the season with averages of 9.8 points and 3.6 rebounds. She recorded 36 steals. She made 127 career three-pointers and holds the program record for three-pointers made in a single game when she sank eight in a game against Rutgers-Camden during her junior season. …

Amanda Nunan (sophomore-Tennessee swimming-OCHS) swam the fourth fastest time in Volunteer women’s swimming history in the 1650 freestyle at the SEC Championships recently. She posted a time of 16:02.34, finishing fifth overall in the event. She also placed seventh in the 500 freestyle. Nunan will swim the 1650 freestyle at the NCAA Championship meet March 20-23 at the University of Texas.  …

Maggie Wallace (freshman-Tennessee swimming-OCHS) helped the Hoosiers win the Big Ten championship meet with a sixth-place finish in the 1650 freestyle in 16:08.32. She also placed 13th in the 500 freestyle. Wallace has qualified to swim the 1650 freestyle at the NCAA Championships March 21-23 in Austin, Texas. …

TRAI GREER

Trai Greer (junior-Rutgers-Camden basketball-MTHS) was the lone player to start all 25 games for the Scarlet Raptors (2-23 overall) this season. He led the team in scoring at 14.4 points per game, rebounding at 5.4 boards per game, assists at 3.6 helpers per game and total steals with 37. He also shot 75.7 percent from the foul line, tops on the team among players with more than 15 attempts. …

Kyion Flanders (freshman-Stockton basketball-WHS) averaged 7.6 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists in his debut season for the Ospreys. He played in 22 of a possible 25 games, including his first college start in the team’s 57-51 win over Rutgers-Newark in the final game of the season. Stockton finished 10-15 overall. …

Jimmy Versage (junior-St. Thomas Aquinas baseball-MTHS) has played in 10 of a possible 12 games so far this season for the Division II Spartans. He has two hits and four runs scored in 19 at bats. St. Thomas Aquinas, located in Sparkhill, N.Y., enters this weekend at 5-7 overall. …

Andrew Mormile (sophomore-Mercer County College baseball-WHS) had a hit, an RBI and two runs scored in the team’s 19-3 victory over Bucks County College earlier this week. Mercer entered this weekend at 4-1 on the season. …

Connor Laverty (junior-Widener basketball-OCHS) finished second on the team in scoring at 13.8 points per game this season. He also averaged 4.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists and was second on the team in three-point shooting at 36.9 percent. Teammate Pat Holden (freshman-Widener basketball-LCMR) averaged 5.7 points per game and led the team in three-point shooting at 52.6 percent. Widener lost to Arcadia in the MAC Commonwealth championship game and finished 15-12 overall. …

MIKALA GILLESPIE

Mikala Gillespie (senior-Rowan lacrosse-OCHS) has recorded two goals and a team-best five assists while playing in all four games (two starts) thus far for the Profs. Teammate Dara Hennessy (sophomore-Rowan lacrosse-OCHS) has added a goal while seeing action in two games. Rowan is 2-2 overall. …

Bridget Ruskey (sophomore-LaSalle lacrosse-MTHS) tallied two goals and two assists in the Explorers’ 17-15 road victory over Radford earlier this week. Ruskey is second on the team in goals with 16 and points with 19 while starting all seven games so far. Teammate Allison Hunter (sophomore-LaSalle field hockey-MTHS) has added three goals and two assists while seeing action in six games this far, with two starts. LaSalle is 2-5 overall. …

Mackenzie McCracken (sophomore-Widener basketball-WHS) started 27 of a possible 28 games and averaged 7.2 points and 3.3 rebounds for the Pride. She led the team in free-throw shooting at 82.8 percent among players with more than 10 attempts. Widener finished 20-8 overall. …

Chris Mormile (junior-Lynn University baseball-WHS) was projected to be a key member of the Fighting Knights’ pitching rotation but has yet to see action this season due to injury. Lynn, a Division II school in Boca Raton, Fla., is 14-10 overall heading into a weekend series with Barry University. …

SEAN MOONEY

Sean Mooney (junior-St. John’s baseball-OCHS) is 1-0 with a 1.40 ERA in four starts so far for the Red Storm. He’s thrown a team-high 22 ⅔ innings and has 28 strikeouts against 13 walks. St. John’s is 4-9 overall heading into a three-game home series against Kansas this weekend. …

Lauren Moretti (sophomore-Delaware Valley basketball-WCHS) played in all 25 games, with 24 starts, for the Aggies and averaged 9.1 points and 2.8 rebounds per game while finishing second on the team in three-pointers made with 40 and in steals with 47. She shot 75.9 percent from the foul line. Delaware Valley finished 11-14 overall. …

Brothers  D.J. Smith (sophomore-Cabrini basketball-WCHS) and Trey Smith (sophomore-Cabrini basketball-WCHS) were key players for the Cavaliers this winter. D.J. averaged 9.1 points and 2.0 rebounds and was the team’s top three-point shooter in terms of percentage at 40.3 and three-pointers made with 64. Trey averaged 7.0 points and 2.3 rebounds and was second on the team in total assists with 81 and third on the team in free throws made with 38. Cabrini finished 6-20 overall. …

ASHLEY HUNT

Ashley Hunt (junior-Lourdes lacrosse-LCMR) is second on the team in both goals with 10 and points with 11 while starting all seven games so far this season. Her younger sister Lexi Hunt (redshirt freshman-Lourdes lacrosse-LCMR) has started all seven games as a defender. Lourdes, located in Sylvania, Ohio, is 2-5 so far this season. …

David Hicks (senior-William & Mary golf-MTHS) shot 74-72-76–222 at the Cleveland Palmetto Invitational in Aiken, Ga., earlier this week, placing 49th out of 90 finishers. William & Mary finished 14th out of 18 in team scoring. …

Shane Adams (senior-William Paterson baseball-CMTHS) has slugged a home run, two doubles and two singles in just nine at bats so far for the Pioneers. He has played in three of a possible eight games, with one start, and has four RBI and two runs scored. William Paterson entered Friday’s game in Leesburg, Fla., with Lesley University at 6-2 overall. …

DOM FIORENTINO

Dom Fiorentino (junior-Ursinus baseball-OCHS) is batting .321 with a team-best four triples and a home run in a team-high 28 at bats so far for the Bears. He has nine hits, eight runs scored and five RBI. Ursinus (4-2) was scheduled to play Nichols College Friday in Eagle Lake, Fla. …

Rachael Zeides (junior-Rider softball-OCHS) has started all 12 games so far and has four hits, including a home run, for the Broncs. Rider (0-12) is set to play five games this weekend at the Capital Classic in California.
