Cape May Tech senior Josh Wright has been awarded with one of the Cape-Atlantic League’s highest honors.
Wright, who finished a record-setting high school basketball career last month, was named the CAL’s Male Athlete of the Winter Season at the league’s winter all-star banquet earlier this week.
Wright was also named a first team CAL United Conference all-star.
Wright, a four-year starter for the Hawks, scored 2,484 career points to finish as the all-time leading scorer among Cape May County high school boys basketball players who played their entire careers at a county school. His point total is also the second-highest in CAL history.
Wright led the Hawks to improved win totals in each of his seasons in the program. The team went 14-13 this winter.
Wright is set to play college basketball at Division III Rutgers-Newark University.
