Cape Express youth soccer teams begin fall season

Cape Express youth soccer teams opened play for the 2020 fall season last weekend. The following are results of the games:

GIRLS

U11 Cape Express Mayhem 4, Harrison 2: The Mayhem traveled to Mullica Hill to open the season against Harrison. Cape displayed great goaltending by Lindsay Grenfell. Abbie Verity scored two goals, including a rocket off a direct kick. Whitney Macrina also scored for the Mayhem win.

U12 Cape Express Riptide 2, EHT Lady Eagles 1: The Riptide won their first game of the season against a very good EHT team behind terrific goalie play by Madison Adams and Ciara Jonassaint. Parker Milstead opened the scoring and Emma Vance scored the game winner. Ainsley Frederick anchored a tough defensive effort, holding EHT to only one goal.

U13 Haddonfield 2, Cape Express Sirens 1: The Sirens opened their U13 year on the big turf field in Haddonfield and battled in a loss. Cape dominated the first half but could not put the ball in the net. A solid defensive effort was led by Riley Odom, Cara Myers and Ella Harkins. Harkins knocked one over the keeper’s head late to keep the game close.

U14 Cape Express Crush 4, RV Force 0: The Crush opened the season at Rancocas Valley in impressive fashion by shutting out RV. It was an entire team effort in the win.

BOYS

U14 Cape Express Lightning 3, Collingswood Voltage 2: The Lightning battled back from an early 1-0 hole to get the win.

U13 Cape Express Breakers 5, Collingswood Coyotes 1: Cape dominated and saw five different players find the net for goals.  A fantastic  showing on their first game of the season.
