CoastSportsToday Male Athlete of the Week: Jorge Cruz, Wildwood

Jorge Cruz of Wildwood High School is the latest CoastSportsToday.com Male Athlete of the Week.

Cruz, a freshman on the boys cross country team, posted a time of 17 minutes, 10 seconds on Wildwood’s home boardwalk/beach course Tuesday to lead the Warriors to a 20-35 win over Pitman that clinched the program’s first-ever division championship.

Cruz went unbeaten in all dual meet races this season after winning the Atlantic Cape Junior High championship race as an eighth-grader last fall.
