CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – A pair of local rivals got together for an extremely competitive and exciting swim meet Tuesday afternoon.
Lower Cape May came out on top in the coed meet, edging Cape May Tech, 88-81, when the Tigers’ Justin Melli, Kaitlyn Flynn, Drew Kronemeyer and Kaitlyn Crouthamel won the final event, the 400 freestyle relay.
Melli and Crouthamel led Lower Cape May (1-2) in the win as each was part of four first-place finishes. Melli placed first in the 100 and 200 freestyle races and was also part of the winning 200 freestyle relay team. Crouthamel claimed top honors in the 500 freestyle and 100 backstroke and was part of the winning 200 medley relay team.
Kyle Satt (50 freestyle) and Blaise McKeown (100 breaststroke) also won individual events for Lower Cape May.
Ted Woolery (100 butterfly) and Lucas Gehring (200 individual medley) each won events for Cape May Tech (0-1).
